From Fear to Feline Devotion - Our Founder’s Journey

I didn’t start life as a “cat person.” Childhood lore warned that cats were drawn to “the milk of a baby’s breath” and might inadvertently harm infants, and the myth stuck. When I entered veterinary medicine, my unease only intensified—needle-fine teeth, lightning-fast claws, and a reputation for resisting restraint.

Early in my career I was often asked to steady cats for exams and vaccinations. Instinctively, I relied on a firm grip, but the tighter I held, the harder they fought. One day I relaxed my hands, softened my voice, and watched a trembling tabby settle into calm compliance. Power wasn’t what the cat needed; gentleness was.

That moment rewired my perspective. Cats are exquisitely tuned mirrors: give them fear and they echo fear; offer them safety and they reflect trust. Strong, fierce, and fully capable of drawing blood—yes—but essentially harmless when we create the right conditions through care and earn their trust through patience.

Why We Exist

Pro Feline Nutrition is built on that revelation. Our mission is to turn every home (or habitat) into a cat lover’s oasis by researching, sourcing, and formulating products that honor a cat’s true nature—whether that cat is domestic, wild, or somewhere wonderfully in between. We obsess over gut microbiomes, prey-model diets, and enrichment that speaks fluent “feline” because we believe cats deserve products as adaptable and magnificent as they are.
